Filtered (0.4 um) and lyophilized from 0.5 mg/ml in 0.05M Acetate buffer pH-4.
Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Purity/Purification
Greater than 90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Preparation and Storage
Store lyophilized protein at -20 degree C. Aliquot the product after reconstitution to avoid repeated freezing/thawing cycles. Reconstituted protein can be stored at 4 degree C for a limited period of time; it does not show any change after two weeks at 4 degree C.
Molecular Weight
80,357 Da
OMIM
608777
3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for Q15063
Source
E.coli
Solubility
It is recommended to add 0.1M Acetate buffer pH4 to prepare a working stock solution of approximately 0.5 mg/ml and let the lyophilized pellet dissolve completely. For conversion into higher pH value, we recommend intensive dilution by relevant buffer to a concentration of 10 ug/ml. In higher concentrations the solubility of this antigen is limited. Product is not sterile! Please filter the product by an appropriate sterile filter before using it in the cell culture.

Other Notes

Small volumes of POSTN recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for POSTN

This gene encodes a secreted extracellular matrix protein that functions in tissue development and regeneration, including wound healing, and ventricular remodeling following myocardial infarction. The encoded protein binds to integrins to support adhesion and migration of epithelial cells. This protein plays a role in cancer stem cell maintenance and metastasis. Mice lacking this gene exhibit cardiac valve disease, and skeletal and dental defects. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
