E Coli
Form/Format
The protein was lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered concentrated solution in 1xPBS, pH 7.4, containing 4M Urea.
Purity/Purification
Greater than 95.0% as determined by: (a) Analysis by HPLC. (b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized CD163 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution CD163 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for Q2VL90
Solubility
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized CD163 in sterile 18M Omega -cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Appearance
Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder

Other Notes

Small volumes of pCD163 recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for pCD163

Involved in clearance and endocytosis of hemoglobin/haptoglobin complexes by macrophages and may thereby protect tissues from free hemoglobin-mediated oxidative damage. May play a role in the uptake and recycling of iron, via endocytosis of hemoglobin/haptoglobin and subsequent breakdown of heme. Binds hemoglobin/haptoglobin complexes in a calcium-dependent and pH-dependent manner. Induces a cascade of intracellular signals that involves tyrosine kinase-dependent calcium mobilization, inositol triphosphate production and secretion of IL6 and CSF1 (). May play a role in the process of infection of porcine monocytes/macrophages by African swine fever virus (ASFV). In case of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV), serves mediates virion attachment and plays a role in viral entry.
