Other Notes

Small volumes of NABP1 recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for NABP1

Single-stranded DNA (ssDNA)-binding proteins, such as OBFC2A, are ubiquitous and essential for a variety of DNA metabolic processes, including replication, recombination, and detection and repair of damage (Richard et al., 2008 [PubMed 18449195]).[supplied by OMIM, Jun 2008]

UniProt Comments for NABP1

OBFC2A: Component of the SOSS complex, a multiprotein complex that functions downstream of the MRN complex to promote DNA repair and G2/M checkpoint. In the SOSS complex, acts as a sensor of single-stranded DNA that binds to single-stranded DNA, in particular to polypyrimidines. The SOSS complex associates with DNA lesions and influences diverse endpoints in the cellular DNA damage response including cell-cycle checkpoint activation, recombinational repair and maintenance of genomic stability. Required for efficient homologous recombination-dependent repair of double-strand breaks (DSBs) and ATM-dependent signaling pathways. Belongs to the SOSS-B family. SOSS-B2 subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: DNA-binding; DNA repair, damage; Cell cycle regulation

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q32.3

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: RNA binding; single-stranded DNA binding

Biological Process: mitotic cell cycle checkpoint; response to ionizing radiation; DNA repair; response to DNA damage stimulus; double-strand break repair via homologous recombination
