Host
E Coli
Form/Format
TMEM27 filtered (0.4 um) and lyophilized from 0.5mg/ml in 0.05M Acetate buffer pH-4.0.
Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Purity/Purification
Purity as determined by densitometric image analysis is greater than 90%.
Preparation and Storage
Store lyophilized protein at -20 degree C. Aliquot the product after reconstitution to avoid repeated freezing/thawing cycles. Reconstituted protein can be stored at 4 degree C for a limited period of time; it does not show any change after two weeks at 4 degree C.
Molecular Weight
25,235 Da
OMIM
300631
3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for Q9HBJ8
Solubility
It is recommended to add 0.1M Acetate buffer pH-4 to prepare a working stock solution of approximately 0.5mg/ml and let the lyophilized pellet dissolve completely at 37 degree C. For conversion into higher pH value, we recommend intensive dilution by relevant buffer to a concentration of 10ug/ml. In higher concentrations the solubility of this antigen is limited. TMEM27 is not sterile! Please filter the product by an appropriate sterile filter before using it in the cell culture.

Other Notes

Small volumes of TMEM27 recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for TMEM27

This gene encodes a type 1 transmembrane protein that is important for trafficking amino acid transporters to the apical brush border of proximal tubules. The encoded protein binds to amino acid transporters and regulates their expression on the plasma membrane. It also plays a role in controlling insulin exocytosis by regulating formation of the SNARE (soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive-factor attachment protein receptor) complex in pancreatic beta cells. The extracellular domain of the encoded protein may be cleaved and shed from the plasma membrane specifically in pancreatic beta cells. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2013]
