Other Notes

Small volumes of mEG VEGF recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for mEG VEGF

PROK1: Potently contracts gastrointestinal (GI) smooth muscle. Induces proliferation, migration and fenestration (the formation of membrane discontinuities) in capillary endothelial cells derived from endocrine glands. Has little or no effect on a variety of other endothelial and non-endothelial cell types. Induces proliferation and differentiation, but not migration, of enteric neural crest cells. Directly influences neuroblastoma progression by promoting the proliferation and migration of neuroblastoma cells. Positively regulates PTGS2 expression and prostaglandin synthesis. May play a role in placentation. May play a role in normal and pathological testis angiogenesis. Belongs to the AVIT (prokineticin) family.

Protein type: Cell cycle regulation; Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide

Cellular Component: extracellular region

Molecular Function: G-protein-coupled receptor binding; growth factor activity

Biological Process: circadian rhythm; activation of MAPK activity; positive regulation of cell division; positive regulation of cell proliferation; angiogenesis; regulation of angiogenesis
