Other Notes

Small volumes of PGAM1 active protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for PGAM1

PGAM1: Interconversion of 3- and 2-phosphoglycerate with 2,3- bisphosphoglycerate as the primer of the reaction. Can also catalyze the reaction of EC 5.4.2.4 (synthase) and EC 3.1.3.13 (phosphatase), but with a reduced activity. Homodimer. In mammalian tissues there are two types of phosphoglycerate mutase isozymes: type-M in muscles and type-B in other tissues. Belongs to the phosphoglycerate mutase family. BPG- dependent PGAM subfamily.

Protein type: Carbohydrate Metabolism - glycolysis and gluconeogenesis; EC 3.1.3.13; EC 5.4.2.11; EC 5.4.2.4; Isomerase; Phosphatase (non-protein)

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19|19 C3

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; cytosol; membrane; myelin sheath; nucleus

Molecular Function: 2,3-bisphosphoglycerate-dependent phosphoglycerate mutase activity; phosphoglycerate mutase activity; protein kinase binding

Biological Process: gluconeogenesis; glycolysis; regulation of glycolysis; regulation of pentose-phosphate shunt; respiratory burst
