The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing BSP. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS160069 kit is based on BSP antibody-BSP antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect BSP antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, BSP. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. NCBI Summary for BSP

The protein encoded by this gene is a major structural protein of the bone matrix. It constitutes approximately 12% of the noncollagenous proteins in human bone and is synthesized by skeletal-associated cell types, including hypertrophic chondrocytes, osteoblasts, osteocytes, and osteoclasts. The only extraskeletal site of its synthesis is the trophoblast. This protein binds to calcium and hydroxyapatite via its acidic amino acid clusters, and mediates cell attachment through an RGD sequence that recognizes the vitronectin receptor.
