Other Notes

Small volumes of PGRP-S elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS2503523 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the PGRP-S, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing PGRP-S. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS2503523 kit is based on PGRP-S antibody-PGRP-S antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PGRP-S antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, PGRP-S. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

UniProt Comments for PGRP-S

PGLYRP1: Pattern receptor that binds to murein peptidoglycans (PGN) of Gram-positive bacteria. Has bactericidal activity towards Gram-positive bacteria. May kill Gram-positive bacteria by interfering with peptidoglycan biosynthesis. Binds also to Gram- negative bacteria, and has bacteriostatic activity towards Gram- negative bacteria. Plays a role in innate immunity. Belongs to the N-acetylmuramoyl-L-alanine amidase 2 family.

Protein type: Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide; Apoptosis; Receptor, misc.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.2-q13.3

Cellular Component: extracellular region

Molecular Function: peptidoglycan receptor activity; peptidoglycan binding; zinc ion binding; N-acetylmuramoyl-L-alanine amidase activity

Biological Process: defense response to Gram-positive bacterium; negative regulation of natural killer cell differentiation during immune response; detection of bacterium; negative regulation of interferon-gamma production; negative regulation of inflammatory response; innate immune response; immune response; pattern recognition receptor signaling pathway; peptidoglycan catabolic process
