Other Notes

Small volumes of TNFRSF11A elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS175923 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the RANK (TNFRSF11A) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing TNFRSF11A. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS175923 kit is based on TNFRSF11A antibody-TNFRSF11A antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect TNFRSF11A antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, TNFRSF11A. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for TNFRSF11A

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. This receptors can interact with various TRAF family proteins, through which this receptor induces the activation of NF-kappa B and MAPK8/JNK. This receptor and its ligand are important regulators of the interaction between T cells and dendritic cells. This receptor is also an essential mediator for osteoclast and lymph node development. Mutations at this locus have been associated with familial expansile osteolysis, autosomal recessive osteopetrosis, and Paget disease of bone. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this locus. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2012]

UniProt Comments for TNFRSF11A

TNFRSF11A: Receptor for TNFSF11/RANKL/TRANCE/OPGL; essential for RANKL-mediated osteoclastogenesis. Involved in the regulation of interactions between T-cells and dendritic cells. Binds to the clefts between the subunits of the TNFSF11 ligand trimer to form a heterohexamer. Interacts with TRAF1, TRAF2, TRAF3, TRAF5 and TRAF6. Interacts (via cytoplasmic domain) with GAB2. Ubiquitous expression with high levels in skeletal muscle, thymus, liver, colon, small intestine and adrenal gland.
