Other Notes

Small volumes of ALCAM elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Searchable Terms for ALCAM purchase

MBS178758 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the ALCAM, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing ALCAM. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS178758 kit is based on ALCAM antibody-ALCAM antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect ALCAM antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, ALCAM. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

UniProt Comments for ALCAM

Cell adhesion molecule that mediates both heterotypic cell-cell contacts via its interaction with CD6, as well as homotypic cell-cell contacts. Promotes T-cell activation and proliferation via its interactions with CD6 (). Contributes to the formation and maturation of the immunological synapse via its interactions with CD6 (). Mediates homotypic interactions with cells that express ALCAM. Mediates attachment of dendritic cells onto endothelial cells via homotypic interaction. Inhibits endothelial cell migration and promotes endothelial tube formation via homotypic interactions. Required for normal organization of the lymph vessel network. Required for normal hematopoietic stem cell engraftment in the bone marrow. Plays a role in hematopoiesis; required for normal numbers of hematopoietic stem cells in bone marrow. Promotes in vitro osteoblast proliferation and differentiation (). Promotes neurite extension, axon growth and axon guidance; axons grow preferentially on surfaces that contain ALCAM (). Mediates outgrowth and pathfinding for retinal ganglion cell axons ().
