Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of anti-C9 antibody

Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded human kidney, using C9 Antibody.
Rabbit Anti-C9 Monoclonal Antibody – Cat# MBS179519

Western Blot (WB) of anti-C9 antibody

Western blot analysis of C9 expression in Human fetal liver lysate.
Rabbit Anti-C9 Monoclonal Antibody, Western Blot (WB) – Cat# MBS179519

Western Blot (WB) of anti-C9 antibody

Western blot analysis of C9 using anti-C9 antibody (MBS179519).
Electrophoresis was performed on a 5-20% SDS-PAGE gel at 70V (Stacking gel) / 90V (Resolving gel) for 2-3 hours.
The sample well of each lane was loaded with 30 ug of sample under reducing conditions.
Lane 1: human placenta tissue lysates.
After electrophoresis, proteins were transferred to a nitrocellulose membrane at 150 mA for 50-90 minutes. Blocked the membrane with 5% non-fat milk/TBS for 1.5 hour at RT. The membrane was incubated with rabbit anti-C9 antigen affinity purified monoclonal antibody (Catalog # MBS179519) at 1:500 overnight at 4°C, then washed with TBS-0.1%Tween 3 times with 5 minutes each and probed with a goat anti-rabbit IgG-HRP secondary antibody at a dilution of 1:500 for 1.5 hour at RT. The signal is developed using an Enhanced Chemiluminescent detection (ECL) kit with Tanon 5200 system. A specific band was detected for C9 at approximately 70 kDa. The expected band size for C9 is at 63,70 kDa

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-C9 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for C9

This gene encodes the final component of the complement system. It participates in the formation of the Membrane Attack Complex (MAC). The MAC assembles on bacterial membranes to form a pore, permitting disruption of bacterial membrane organization. Mutations in this gene cause component C9 deficiency. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]

UniProt Comments for C9

Constituent of the membrane attack complex (MAC) that plays a key role in the innate and adaptive immune response by forming pores in the plasma membrane of target cells (PubMed:9634479, PubMed:9212048, PubMed:26841934). C9 is the pore-forming subunit of the MAC (PubMed:4055801, PubMed:26841934).
