Drebrin (DBN1) Antibody – Mouse Monoclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS1800537

Drebrin is an actin-binding protein, which is expressed mainly in neurons and plays important role in their morphogenesis. The highest level of its expression is in developing brain. Both in neurons and non-neuronal cells drebrin acts as a key regulator of… More details

Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS) of anti-DBN1 antibody

Separation of REH cells stained using anti-human Drebrin (DBN-N-03) PE antibody (10 ul reagent per million cells in 100 ul of cell suspension, red-filled) from REH cells stained using mouse IgG1 isotype control (MOPC-21) PE antibody (concentration in sample 5 ug/ml, same as Drebrin PE concentration, black-dashed) in flow cytometry analysis (intracellular staining) of REH cell suspension.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-DBN1 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for DBN1

The protein encoded by this gene is a cytoplasmic actin-binding protein thought to play a role in the process of neuronal growth. It is a member of the drebrin family of proteins that are developmentally regulated in the brain. A decrease in the amount of this protein in the brain has been implicated as a possible contributing factor in the pathogenesis of memory disturbance in Alzheimer's disease. At least two alternative splice variants encoding different protein isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
