Phosphate buffered saline (PBS) solution with 15 mM sodium azide
Purity/Purification
Purified by Protein-A Affinity Chromatography
Concentration
1 mg/ml (lot specific)
Specificity
The antibody HCG-61 reacts with beta-subunit of human chorionic gonadotropin, a 40 kDa hormone. hCG belongs to the glycoprotein hormone family together with lutropin (LH), follitropin (FSH) and thyrotropin (TSH). hCG is synthesised by trophoblastic cells of the placenta during pregnancy and stimulates the growth of corpus luteum. The HCG-61 antibody reacts with association constant 5.1 x 10 10 l/mol. Following cross-reactivity (%) was determined by classic double-antibody RIA using unlabelled hormones: beta-hCG (77), alpha-hCG (1.3), hLH (0.86), hFSH (< 0.5), hTSH (< 0.5).

Immunocytochemistry (ICC), ELISA (EIA)

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-CGB antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for CGB

This gene is a member of the glycoprotein hormone beta chain family and encodes the beta 3 subunit of chorionic gonadotropin (CG). Glycoprotein hormones are heterodimers consisting of a common alpha subunit and an unique beta subunit which confers biological specificity. CG is produced by the trophoblastic cells of the placenta and stimulates the ovaries to synthesize the steroids that are essential for the maintenance of pregnancy. The beta subunit of CG is encoded by 6 genes which are arranged in tandem and inverted pairs on chromosome 19q13.3 and contiguous with the luteinizing hormone beta subunit gene. UniProt Comments for CGB

Beta subunit of the human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). hCG is a complex glycoprotein composed of two glycosylated subunits alpha and beta which are non-covalently associated. The alpha subunit is identical to those in the pituitary gonadotropin hormones (LH, FSH and TSH). The beta subunits are distinct in each of the hormones and confer receptor and biological specificity. Has an essential role in pregnancy and maternal adaptation. Stimulates the ovaries to synthesize the steroids that are essential for the maintenance of pregnancy.
