PCLO Antibody – Mouse Monoclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS1801477

PCLO (piccolo, also known as aczonin) is a large (more than 400 kDa) multidomain protein of the presynaptic cytomatrix in neurons, that is present in all vertebrate synapses, but is absent from invertebrates. It contains zinc finger and coiled-coil sequences,… More details

Western Blot (WB) of anti-PCLO antibody

Western blotting of human REH erythroid cell line lysate (1% laurylmaltoside); non-reduced sample, immunostained by mAb PCLO-01 and goat anti-mouse IgG (H+L)-HRP conjugate. The zone evidently corresponds to a small splice variant of the PCLO protein present in this type of cell (see Uniprot database, Genome Res. 14:2121-2127(2004)); the major form (over 500 kDa) expressed in neurons is too large for analysis by Western blotting.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-PCLO antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for PCLO

The protein encoded by this gene is part of the presynaptic cytoskeletal matrix, which is involved in establishing active synaptic zones and in synaptic vesicle trafficking. Variations in this gene have been associated with bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
