BACE2 Antibody – Rabbit

Accumulation of the amyloid- beta peptide (A beta ) in the cerebral cortex is a critical event in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease. A beta peptide is generated as a result of proteolytic cleavage of the beta -amyloid protein precursor (APP) at beta - and gamma -sites. beta -secretase was recently identified and designated beta-site APP cleaving enzyme (BACE) and aspartyl protease 2 (Asp2). A BACE homolog was recently identified and designated BACE2, or Asp1, DRAP (for Down region aspartic protease), or memapsin 1. BACE2 cleaves APP at the beta - site and at a different site within A beta . BACE2 is found on chromosome 21q22 3, the 'Down critical region', suggesting that BACE2 and A beta may also contribute to the pathogenesis of Down syndrome.

Small volumes of anti-BACE2 (NT) antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
