Product Overview

Online Datasheet in PDF
Product Name
p8 (CT) (NUPR1), Polyclonal Antibody
Full Product Name
p8 (CT) Polyclonal Antibody
Product Gene Name
Product Synonym Names
p8 (CT); p8
Clonality
Polyclonal
Host
Rabbit
Form/Format
100 ug affinity-purified antibody in phosphate-buffered saline, pH 7.4.
Specificity
p8 (CT) [This rabbit antibody recognizes the C-terminus of human p8 protein.]
This antibody recognizes human p8 protein, a nuclear protein with potent mitogenic activity that is expressed in the pancreas during acute pancreatitis. Cells that express p8 grow more rapidly than non-p8 expessing cells.
Preparation and Storage
This antibody is stable for at least one (1) year at -20 degree C. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
Molecular Weight
8,873 Da
3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for O60356
Antigen
Peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human p8 protein.
Stabilizer
None
Preservatives
0.02% sodium azide
Dilutions Instructions
Dilute in PBS or medium which is identical to that used in the assay system.
Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-NUPR1 antibody
Immunoblot
Application Notes for anti-NUPR1 antibody
Immunoblotting: use at 1:500-1:1,000 dilution. In immunoblots, a band of approximately 8 kD is detected.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-NUPR1 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

9. The results suggest that p8 growth stage-dependent localization is regulated by acetylation, that p8 is not free within the cell but forming part of a complex and that it may exert a role in both subcellular localizations.
10. the anti-apoptotic effect previously attributed separately to p8 and prothymosin alpha is in fact borne by the p8/ProTalpha complex, the two proteins being individually inactive
