RAS Antibody – Mouse Monoclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS200363

All RAS protein family members belong to a class of protein called small GTPase, and are involved cellular signal transduction. RAS is 'switched on' by incoming signals, it subsequently switches on other proteins, which ultimately turn on genes involved in… More details

ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS)
Application Notes for anti-RAS antibody
This antibody has been tested by ELISA, Western Blot, and ICC/IF analysis to assure specificity and reactivity. Since applications vary, however, each application should be titrated by the reagent to obtain optimal results.

Western Blot (WB) of anti-RAS antibody

The Cell lysates (40ug) were resolved by SDS-PAGE, transferred to PVDF membrane and probed with anti-human KRAS antibody (1:500). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and an ECL detection system.

NCBI Summary for RAS

This gene, a Kirsten ras oncogene homolog from the mammalian ras gene family, encodes a protein that is a member of the small GTPase superfamily. A single amino acid substitution is responsible for an activating mutation. The transforming protein that results is implicated in various malignancies, including lung adenocarcinoma, mucinous adenoma, ductal carcinoma of the pancreas and colorectal carcinoma. Alternative splicing leads to variants encoding two isoforms that differ in the C-terminal region. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for RAS

Ras proteins bind GDP/GTP and possess intrinsic GTPase activity. Plays an important role in the regulation of cell proliferation (PubMed:23698361, PubMed:22711838). Plays a role in promoting oncogenic events by inducing transcriptional silencing of tumor suppressor genes (TSGs) in colorectal cancer (CRC) cells in a ZNF304-dependent manner (PubMed:24623306).
