ARPC5 Recombinant Protein

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS204029

p16-ARC, also known as ARPC5, is a 151 amino acid subunit of the Arp2/3 complex. Thought to play a role in maintaining the integrity of Arp2/3, ARPC5 is a substrate for MAPKAPK-2 which, through phosphorylation of ARPC5, may participate in Arp2/3 regulatory… More details

NCBI Summary for ARPC5

This gene encodes one of seven subunits of the human Arp2/3 protein complex. The Arp2/3 protein complex has been implicated in the control of actin polymerization in cells and has been conserved through evolution. The exact role of the protein encoded by this gene, the p16 subunit, has yet to be determined. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been observed for this gene. UniProt Comments for ARPC5

Functions as component of the Arp2/3 complex which is involved in regulation of actin polymerization and together with an activating nucleation-promoting factor (NPF) mediates the formation of branched actin networks.
