This item recognises the human CD103 cell surface antigen, also known as the alphaE integrin. This reacts with various subsets of human intra-epithelial lymphocytes:- 40% of lamina propria T-cells; 30% of mesenteric lymphoblasts and some lymphocytes from other mucosa. It recognises less than 0.1% bone marrow cells and less than 0.7% PBL.

Application Notes for anti-CD103 antibody
Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 5 x 105 cells in 100ul.
Immunohistology - Frozen: Minimum Dilution: 1/50; Maximum Dilution: 1/100; Application Note: The epitope recognised by this antibody is reported to be sensitive to formaldehyde fixation and tissue processing. MyBioSource recommends the use of acetone fixation for frozen sections.
Flow Cytometry: Minimum Dilution: 1/50; Maximum Dilution: 1/100

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-CD103 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for CD103

Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. This gene encodes an I-domain-containing alpha integrin that undergoes post-translational cleavage in the extracellular domain, yielding disulfide-linked heavy and light chains. In combination with the beta 7 integrin, this protein forms the E-cadherin binding integrin known as the human mucosal lymphocyte-1 antigen. This protein is preferentially expressed in human intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes (IEL), and in addition to a role in adhesion, it may serve as an accessory molecule for IEL activation.
