Purified IgG - liquid
Concentration
IgG concentration 0.5mg/ml (lot specific)
Specificity
This item detects an epitope within the internal region of ubiquitin specific protease 4 (USP4), a 105kD protein also known as ubiquitous nuclear protein (UNP). USP4 binds to the retinoblastoma family of tumour suppressor proteins, including pRb, p107 and p130. USP4 shuttles between the nucleus and cytoplasm and is thought to be an oncogene, with elevated expression in small cells tumours and adenocarcinomas of the lung.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide: Internal domain of human USP4.
Histology Positive Control Tissue||Thymus
Buffer Solution||Phosphate buffered saline
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to USP4 were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbit with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-USP4 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for USP4

The protein encoded by this gene is a protease that deubiquitinates target proteins such as ADORA2A and TRIM21. The encoded protein shuttles between the nucleus and cytoplasm and is involved in maintaining operational fidelity in the endoplasmic reticulum. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]

UniProt Comments for USP4

USP4: Hydrolase that deubiquitinates target proteins such as the receptor ADORA2A, PDPK1 and TRIM21. Deubiquitination of ADORA2A increases the amount of functional receptor at the cell surface. Plays a role in the regulation of quality control in the ER. Interacts with RB1 (both dephosphorylated and hypophosphorylated forms). Interacts with ADORA2A (via cytoplasmic C-terminus); the interaction is direct. Interacts with RB1, RBL1 and RBL2. Overexpressed in small cell tumors and adenocarcinomas of the lung compared to wild-type lung. Expressed in the hippocampal neurons. Belongs to the peptidase C19 family. USP4 subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Ubiquitin-specific protease; Protease; EC 3.4.19.12; Oncoprotein; Ubiquitin conjugating system

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3p21.3

Cellular Component: lysosome; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; nucleus

Molecular Function: identical protein binding; protein binding; cysteine-type endopeptidase activity; metal ion binding; ubiquitin-specific protease activity; adenosine receptor binding

Biological Process: assembly of spliceosomal tri-snRNP; proteasomal ubiquitin-dependent protein catabolic process; protein deubiquitination; regulation of protein stability; negative regulation of protein ubiquitination
