DOPA Decarboxylase (DDC) Antibody – Rabbit Polyclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS222967

MBS222967 recognises DOPA decarboxylase (aromatic-L-amino acid decarboxylase, DDC), an enzyme that catalyses the decarboxylation of L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA) to dopamine, L-5-hydroxytryptophan to serotonin and L-tryptophan to tryptamine. The enzyme… More details

Specificity
This item recognises DOPA decarboxylase (aromatic-L-amino acid decarboxylase, DDC), an enzyme that catalyses the decarboxylation of L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA) to dopamine, L-5-hydroxytryptophan to serotonin and L-tryptophan to tryptamine. The enzyme is expressed ubiquitously and is essential for the formation of catecholamines, indoleamines and trace amines. DDC is considered to be the rate-limiting step for the formation of trace amines, but not for the formation of catecholamines or indoleamines. It also becomes rate-limiting for dopamine formation in Parkinson's disease patients treated with L-DOPA.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-DDC antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
