Application Notes for anti-CD34 antibody
ELISA: This product is suitable for use in indirect ELISA applications.
Western Blot: Clone AV138 detects a band of approximately 70 - 80kDa on COS cell supernatant transfected with chicken CD34 (extracellular)/V5HIS6 tagged protein under reducing conditions.
Immunocytochemistry: Application Note: It has been demonstrated that this antibody can be used to detect chicken CD34 expressed in COS7 cells using an AEC substrate detection system.

NCBI Summary for CD34

The protein encoded by this gene may play a role in the attachment of stem cells to the bone marrow extracellular matrix or to stromal cells. This single-pass membrane protein is highly glycosylated and phosphorylated by protein kinase C. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. UniProt Comments for CD34

CD34: Possible adhesion molecule with a role in early hematopoiesis by mediating the attachment of stem cells to the bone marrow extracellular matrix or directly to stromal cells. Could act as a scaffold for the attachment of lineage specific glycans, allowing stem cells to bind to lectins expressed by stromal cells or other marrow components. Presents carbohydrate ligands to selectins. Selectively expressed on hematopoietic progenitor cells and the small vessel endothelium of a variety of tissues. Belongs to the CD34 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
