RELA Antibody – Rabbit Polyclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS240261

NFKB1 or NFKB2 bind to REL, RELA, or RELB to form the NFKB complex. The NFKB1/RELA heterodimer is the most abundant form of NFKB. The NFKB complex is inactivated by I-kappa-B proteins that keep it trapped in the cytoplasm. Phosphorylation of serine residues… More details

Rabbit Anti-RELA Polyclonal Antibody, Western Blot (WB) – Cat# MBS240261

Western Blot (WB) of anti-RELA antibody

Anti-NFkb p 65 Rel A Antibody - Western Blot. Western blot of HeLa cell extract. A predominant band ~65 kD (arrowhead) corresponding to NFkb p65 Rel A is observed. All incubations except color development were performed using TBS supplemented with 0.1% Tween-20 at room temperature. The membrane was blocked in 5% dry milk for 2 h. After washing, a 1:5000 dilution of the primary antibody was added to the membrane and incubated for 2 h. Washes with buffer were performed 4 times for 5 each. The western blot was incubated with secondary antibody (HRP Goat-a-Rabbit IgG [H&L]) diluted 1:2000 for 1 h. Washes with TBS preceded color development.
Rabbit Anti-RELA Polyclonal Antibody, Western Blot (WB) – Cat# MBS240261

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-RELA antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for RELA

NF-kappa-B is a ubiquitous transcription factor involved in several biological processes. It is held in the cytoplasm in an inactive state by specific inhibitors. Upon degradation of the inhibitor, NF-kappa-B moves to the nucleus and activates transcription of specific genes. NF-kappa-B is composed of NFKB1 or NFKB2 bound to either REL, RELA, or RELB. The most abundant form of NF-kappa-B is NFKB1 complexed with the product of this gene, RELA. Four transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. UniProt Comments for RELA

NFkB-p65: a subunit of NF-kappa-B transcription complex, which plays a crucial role in inflammatory and immune responses. The inhibitory effect of I-kappa-B upon NF-kappa-B in the cytoplasm is exerted primarily through the interaction with p65. P65 shows a weak DNA-binding site which could contribute directly to DNA binding in the NF-kappa-B complex. There are five NFkB proteins in mammals (RelA/NFkB-p65, RelB, c-Rel, NF-_B1/NFkB-p105, and NF-_B2/NFkB-p100). They form a variety of homodimers and heterodimers, each of which activates its own characteristic set of genes. Three splice-variant isoforms have been identified.
