CHEMR23 Antibody – Rat Monoclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS245270

Chemokine-Like Receptor 1 (CMKLR1) is an chemoattractant receptor. CMKLR1 is thought to act primarily in bone development where it is differentially regulated in osseous and cartilaginous tissue. It also acts as a coreceptor for immunodeficiency viruses.… More details

Specificity
Recognizes human serpentine chemokine-like receptor 1 (CMKLR1), a novel chemoattractant receptor, which is also referred to Chem23 or DEZ. CMKLR1 is expressed on plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDC) in blood but is not expressed on myeloid dendritic cells, lymphocytes, monocytes or granulocytes. Studies show that CMKLR1 is also expressed on dendritic cells, which have been generated in vitro from monocytes. The sole ligand for CMKLR1 is chemerin, a chemoattractant that exists at the mRNA level in a wide range of tissues, and as an inactive proform in serum and plasma. Studies suggest that chemerin, in plasma, is converted into a potent pDC attractant following blood coagulation and may be a process by which pDC's are recruited to sites of bleeding and tissue damage

UniProt Comments for CHEMR23

CMKLR1: Receptor for the chemoattractant adipokine chemerin/RARRES2 and for the omega-3 fatty acid derived molecule resolvin E1. Interaction with RARRES2 induces activation of intracellular signaling molecules, such as SKY, MAPK1/3 (ERK1/2), MAPK14/P38MAPK and PI3K leading to multifunctional effects, like, reduction of immune responses, enhancing of adipogenesis and angionesis. Resolvin E1 down-regulates cytokine production in macrophages by reducing the activation of MAPK1/3 (ERK1/2) and NF- kappa-B. Acts as a coreceptor for several SIV strains (SIVMAC316, SIVMAC239, SIVMACL7E-FR and SIVSM62A), as well as a primary HIV-1 strain (92UG024-2). Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
