Probable E3 Ubiquitin-Protein Ligase HERC1 (HERC1) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS280560

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate HERC1 in samples. An antibody specific for HERC1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyHERC1 present is bound by the… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of HERC1 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS280560 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Probable E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase HERC1, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing HERC1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS280560 kit is based on HERC1 antibody-HERC1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect HERC1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, HERC1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for HERC1

This gen encodes a member of the HERC protein family. This protein stimulates guanine nucleotide exchange on ARF1 and Rab proteins. This protein may be involved in membrane transport processes. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2012]

UniProt Comments for HERC1

HERC1: Involved in membrane trafficking via some guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) activity and its ability to bind clathrin. Acts as a GEF for Arf and Rab, by exchanging bound GDP for free GTP. Binds phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate, which is required for GEF activity. May also act as a E3 ubiquitin- protein ligase which accepts ubiquitin from an E2 ubiquitin- conjugating enzyme in the form of a thioester and then directly transfers the ubiquitin to targeted substrates.

Protein type: EC 6.3.2.-; EC 6.3.2.19; GEF; GEF, ARF; Ligase; Ubiquitin conjugating system; Ubiquitin ligase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 15q22.31

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; cytosol; Golgi apparatus; membrane

Molecular Function: ARF guanyl-nucleotide exchange factor activity; ubiquitin-protein transferase activity

Biological Process: cerebellar Purkinje cell differentiation; negative regulation of autophagy; neuromuscular process controlling balance; neuron projection development; positive regulation of GTPase activity; protein ubiquitination; transport
