Poly (A) RNA Polymerase GLD2 (PAPD4) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS280598

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate PAPD4 in samples. An antibody specific for PAPD4 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyPAPD4 present is bound by the… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of PAPD4 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS280598 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Poly (A) RNA polymerase GLD2 (PAPD4) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing PAPD4. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS280598 kit is based on PAPD4 antibody-PAPD4 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PAPD4 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, PAPD4. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

UniProt Comments for PAPD4

PAPD4: Cytoplasmic poly(A) RNA polymerase that adds successive AMP monomers to the 3'-end of specific RNAs, forming a poly(A) tail. In contrast to the canonical nuclear poly(A) RNA polymerase, it only adds poly(A) to selected cytoplasmic mRNAs. Does not play a role in replication-dependent histone mRNA degradation. Belongs to the DNA polymerase type-B-like family. GLD2 subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: EC 2.7.7.19; RNA processing; Transferase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q14.1

Cellular Component: cytosol

Molecular Function: ATP binding; metal ion binding; polynucleotide adenylyltransferase activity; protein binding

Biological Process: hemopoietic progenitor cell differentiation; hippocampus development; mRNA processing; neuron differentiation; retina development in camera-type eye; RNA polyadenylation
