WASH Complex Subunit Strumpellin (KIAA0196) ELISA Kit for Mouse

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS280679

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate KIAA0196 in samples. An antibody specific for KIAA0196 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyKIAA0196 present is bound… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of KIAA0196 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS280679 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the WASH complex subunit strumpellin (KIAA0196) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing KIAA0196. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS280679 kit is based on KIAA0196 antibody-KIAA0196 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect KIAA0196 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, KIAA0196. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

UniProt Comments for KIAA0196

KIAA0196: Component of the WASH complex, a complex present at the surface of endosomes that recruits and activates the Arp2/3 complex to induce actin polymerization. The WASH complex plays a key role in the fission of tubules that serve as transport intermediates during endosome sorting. Defects in KIAA0196 are the cause of spastic paraplegia autosomal dominant type 8 (SPG8). Spastic paraplegia is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by a slow, gradual, progressive weakness and spasticity of the lower limbs. Spastic paraplegia is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by a slow, gradual, progressive weakness and spasticity of the lower limbs. Rate of progression and the severity of symptoms are quite variable. Initial symptoms may include difficulty with balance, weakness and stiffness in the legs, muscle spasms, and dragging the toes when walking. In some forms of the disorder, bladder symptoms (such as incontinence) may appear, or the weakness and stiffness may spread to other parts of the body. Belongs to the strumpellin family.
