Plexin-A2 (PLXNA2) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS280969

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate PLXNA2 in samples. An antibody specific for PLXNA2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyPLXNA2 present is bound by… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of PLXNA2 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS280969 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Plexin-A2 (PLXNA2) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing PLXNA2. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS280969 kit is based on PLXNA2 antibody-PLXNA2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PLXNA2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, PLXNA2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for PLXNA2

This gene encodes a member of the plexin-A family of semaphorin co-receptors. Semaphorins are a large family of secreted or membrane-bound proteins that mediate repulsive effects on axon pathfinding during nervous system development. A subset of semaphorins are recognized by plexin-A/neuropilin transmembrane receptor complexes, triggering a cellular signal transduction cascade that leads to axon repulsion. This plexin-A family member is thought to transduce signals from semaphorin-3A and -3C. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for PLXNA2

PLXNA2: Coreceptor for SEMA3A and SEMA6A. Necessary for signaling by SEMA6A and class 3 semaphorins and subsequent remodeling of the cytoskeleton. Plays a role in axon guidance, invasive growth and cell migration. Class 3 semaphorins bind to a complex composed of a neuropilin and a plexin. The plexin modulates the affinity of the complex for specific semaphorins, and its cytoplasmic domain is required for the activation of down- stream signaling events in the cytoplasm. Homodimer. The PLXNA2 homodimer interacts with a SEMA6A homodimer, giving rise to a heterotetramer. Interacts directly with NRP1 and NRP2. Interacts with RND1. Detected in fetal brain. Belongs to the plexin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, misc.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q32.2

Cellular Component: integral component of plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: identical protein binding; protein binding; semaphorin receptor activity

Biological Process: branchiomotor neuron axon guidance; centrosome localization; cerebellar granule cell precursor tangential migration; limb bud formation; neural tube development; pharyngeal system development; regulation of axon extension involved in axon guidance; regulation of cell migration; semaphorin-plexin signaling pathway; somitogenesis
