PRKCA-Binding (PICK1) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS281196

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate PICK1 in samples. An antibody specific for PICK1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyPICK1 present is bound by the… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of PICK1 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS281196 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the PRKCA-binding protein (PICK1) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing PICK1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS281196 kit is based on PICK1 antibody-PICK1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PICK1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, PICK1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for PICK1

The protein encoded by this gene contains a PDZ domain, through which it interacts with protein kinase C, alpha (PRKCA). This protein may function as an adaptor that binds to and organizes the subcellular localization of a variety of membrane proteins. It has been shown to interact with multiple glutamate receptor subtypes, monoamine plasma membrane transporters, as well as non-voltage gated sodium channels, and may target PRKCA to these membrane proteins and thus regulate their distribution and function. This protein has also been found to act as an anchoring protein that specifically targets PRKCA to mitochondria in a ligand-specific manner. Three transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for PICK1

PICK1: Probable adapter protein that bind to and organize the subcellular localization of a variety of membrane proteins containing some PDZ recognition sequence. Involved in the clustering of various receptors, possibly by acting at the receptor internalization level. Plays a role in synaptic plasticity by regulating the trafficking and internalization of AMPA receptors. May be regulated upon PRKCA activation. May regulate heteromeric ASIC1/ASIC3 channel.
