Heat Shock Protein 60 (HSP-60) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS281209

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate HSPD1 in samples. An antibody specific for HSPD1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyHSPD1 present is bound by the… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of HSP-60 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS281209 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Heat Shock Protein 60 (HSP-60) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing HSP-60. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS281209 kit is based on HSP-60 antibody-HSP-60 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect HSP-60 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, HSP-60. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for HSP-60

This gene encodes a member of the chaperonin family. The encoded mitochondrial protein may function as a signaling molecule in the innate immune system. This protein is essential for the folding and assembly of newly imported proteins in the mitochondria. This gene is adjacent to a related family member and the region between the 2 genes functions as a bidirectional promoter. Several pseudogenes have been associated with this gene. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified for this gene. Mutations associated with this gene cause autosomal recessive spastic paraplegia 13. UniProt Comments for HSP-60

HSP60: Implicated in mitochondrial protein import and macromolecular assembly. May facilitate the correct folding of imported proteins. May also prevent misfolding and promote the refolding and proper assembly of unfolded polypeptides generated under stress conditions in the mitochondrial matrix. Interacts with HRAS. Interacts with HBV protein X and HTLV-1 protein p40tax. Belongs to the chaperonin (HSP60) family.
