PRKC Apoptosis WT1 Regulator (PAWR) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS281365

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate PAWR in samples. An antibody specific for PAWR has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyPAWR present is bound by the… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of PAWR elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS281365 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the PRKC apoptosis WT1 regulator protein (PAWR) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing PAWR. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS281365 kit is based on PAWR antibody-PAWR antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PAWR antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, PAWR. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for PAWR

This gene encodes a tumor suppressor protein that selectively induces apoptosis in cancer cells through intracellular and extracellular mechanisms. The intracellular mechanism involves the inhibition of pro-survival pathways and the activation of Fas-mediated apoptosis, while the extracellular mechanism involves the binding of a secreted form of this protein to glucose regulated protein 78 (GRP78) on the cell surface, which leads to activation of the extrinsic apoptotic pathway. This gene is located on the unstable human chromosomal 12q21 region and is often deleted or mutated different tumors. The encoded protein also plays an important role in the progression of age-related diseases. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2017]

UniProt Comments for PAWR

PAR-4: a proapoptotic protein that drives trafficking and activation of Fas and Fasl to induce prostate cancer cell apoptosis and tumor regression. Capable of selectively inducing apoptosis in cancer cells, sensitizing the cells to diverse apoptotic stimuli and causing regression of tumors in animal models. Induces apoptosis in certain cancer cells by activation of the Fas prodeath pathway and coparallel inhibition of NF-kappaB transcriptional activity. Inhibits the transcriptional activation and augments the transcriptional repression mediated by WT1. Down-regulates the anti-apoptotic protein BCL2 via its interaction with WT1. Seems also to be a transcriptional repressor by itself. May be directly involved in regulating the amyloid precursor protein (APP) cleavage activity of BACE1.

Protein type: Apoptosis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q21.2

Cellular Component: actin filament; cytoplasm; nuclear chromatin; nucleus
