Poliovirus Receptor-Related Protein 2 (PVRL2) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS281379

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate PVRL2 in samples. An antibody specific for PVRL2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyPVRL2 present is bound by the… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of PVRL2 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS281379 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Poliovirus receptor-related protein 2 (PVRL2) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing PVRL2. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS281379 kit is based on PVRL2 antibody-PVRL2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PVRL2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, PVRL2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for PVRL2

This gene encodes a single-pass type I membrane glycoprotein with two Ig-like C2-type domains and an Ig-like V-type domain. This protein is one of the plasma membrane components of adherens junctions. It also serves as an entry for certain mutant strains of herpes simplex virus and pseudorabies virus, and it is involved in cell to cell spreading of these viruses. Variations in this gene have been associated with differences in the severity of multiple sclerosis. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized. UniProt Comments for PVRL2

Modulator of T-cell signaling. Can be either a costimulator of T-cell function, or a coinhibitor, depending on the receptor it binds to. Upon binding to CD226, stimulates T-cell proliferation and cytokine production, including that of IL2, IL5, IL10, IL13, and IFNG. Upon interaction with PVRIG, inhibits T-cell proliferation. These interactions are competitive (PubMed:26755705). Probable cell adhesion protein (PubMed:9657005).
