Indian Hedgehog (IHH) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS281605

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate IHH in samples. An antibody specific for IHH has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyIHH present is bound by the… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of IHH elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS281605 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Indian hedgehog (IHH) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing IHH. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS281605 kit is based on IHH antibody-IHH antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect IHH antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, IHH. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for IHH

This gene encodes a member of the hedgehog family of proteins. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate multiple protein products, including an N-terminal fragment that is involved in signaling. Hedgehog family proteins are essential secreted signaling molecules that regulate a variety of developmental processes including growth, patterning and morphogenesis. The protein encoded by this gene specifically plays a role in bone growth and differentiation. Mutations in this gene are the cause of brachydactyly type A1, which is characterized by shortening or malformation of the fingers and toes. Mutations in this gene are also the cause of acrocapitofemoral dysplasia. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2015]

UniProt Comments for IHH

IHH: Intercellular signal essential for a variety of patterning events during development. Binds to the patched (PTC) receptor, which functions in association with smoothened (SMO), to activate the transcription of target genes. Implicated in endochondral ossification: may regulate the balance between growth and ossification of the developing bones. Induces the expression of parathyroid hormone-related protein (PTHRP). Expressed in embryonic lung, and in adult kidney and liver. Belongs to the hedgehog family.
