Cathepsin E (CTSE) ELISA Kit for Mouse

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS281958

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate CTSE in samples. An antibody specific for CTSE has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyCTSE present is bound by the… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of CTSE elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS281958 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Cathepsin E (CTSE) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing CTSE. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS281958 kit is based on CTSE antibody-CTSE antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CTSE antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, CTSE. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for CTSE

This gene encodes a member of the peptidase A1 family of aspartate proteases and preproprotein that is proteolytically processed to generate a mature protein product. The encoded protein may be involved in antigen processing and the maturation of secretory proteins. Elevated expression of this gene has been observed in neurodegeneration. Homozygous knockout mice for this gene exhibit lysosomal storage disorder, impaired autophagy, mitochondrial abnormalities, dermatitis, and reduced weight gain in an obesity model. UniProt Comments for CTSE

CTSE: May have a role in immune function. Probably involved in the processing of antigenic peptides during MHC class II-mediated antigen presentation. May play a role in activation-induced lymphocyte depletion in the thymus, and in neuronal degeneration and glial cell activation in the brain. Belongs to the peptidase A1 family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: EC 3.4.23.34; Protease

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1 E4|1 57.14 cM

Cellular Component: endosome

Molecular Function: aspartic-type endopeptidase activity; hydrolase activity; peptidase activity; protein homodimerization activity

Biological Process: antigen processing and presentation of exogenous peptide antigen via MHC class II; protein autoprocessing; protein catabolic process; proteolysis
