Glycylpeptide N-Tetradecanoyltransferase 1 (NMT1) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS282017

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate NMT1 in samples. An antibody specific for NMT1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyNMT1 present is bound by the… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of NMT1 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS282017 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Glycylpeptide N-tetradecanoyltransferase 1 (NMT1) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing NMT1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS282017 kit is based on NMT1 antibody-NMT1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect NMT1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, NMT1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for NMT1

Myristate, a rare 14-carbon saturated fatty acid, is cotranslationally attached by an amide linkage to the N-terminal glycine residue of cellular and viral proteins with diverse functions. N-myristoyltransferase (NMT; EC 2.3.1.97) catalyzes the transfer of myristate from CoA to proteins. N-myristoylation appears to be irreversible and is required for full expression of the biologic activities of several N-myristoylated proteins, including the alpha subunit of the signal-transducing guanine nucleotide-binding protein (G protein) GO (GNAO1; MIM 139311) (Duronio et al., 1992 [PubMed 1570339]).[supplied by OMIM, Nov 2008]
