Potassium Voltage-Gated Channel Subfamily B Member 2 (KCNB2) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS282120

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate KCNB2 in samples. An antibody specific for KCNB2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyKCNB2 present is bound by the… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of KCNB2 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS282120 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily B member 2 (KCNB2) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing KCNB2. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS282120 kit is based on KCNB2 antibody-KCNB2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect KCNB2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, KCNB2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for KCNB2

Voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels represent the most complex class of voltage-gated ion channels from both functional and structural standpoints. Their diverse functions include regulating neurotransmitter release, heart rate, insulin secretion, neuronal excitability, epithelial electrolyte transport, smooth muscle contraction, and cell volume. Four sequence-related potassium channel genes - shaker, shaw, shab, and shal - have been identified in Drosophila, and each has been shown to have human homolog(s). This gene encodes a member of the potassium channel, voltage-gated, shab-related subfamily. This member is a delayed rectifier potassium channel. The gene is expressed in gastrointestinal smooth muscle cells. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for KCNB2

Kv2.2: Mediates the voltage-dependent potassium ion permeability of excitable membranes. Channels open or close in response to the voltage difference across the membrane, letting potassium ions pass in accordance with their electrochemical gradient. Belongs to the potassium channel family. B (Shab) (TC 1.A.1.2) subfamily. Kv2.2/KCNB2 sub-subfamily.
