Carbonic Anhydrase 12 (CA12) ELISA Kit for Mouse

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS282129

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate CA12 in samples. An antibody specific for CA12 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyCA12 present is bound by the… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of CA12 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS282129 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Carbonic anhydrase 12 (CA12) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing CA12. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS282129 kit is based on CA12 antibody-CA12 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CA12 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, CA12. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for CA12

This gene encodes a membrane-bound member of the alpha carbonic anhydrase family of enzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide to bicarbonate. These proteins participate in a variety of biological processes, including respiration, calcification, acid-base balance, bone resorption, and the formation of aqueous humor, cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, and gastric acid. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2015]

UniProt Comments for CA12

CA12: Reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. Homodimer. Highly expressed in colon, kidney, prostate, intestine and activated lymphocytes. Expressed at much higher levels in the renal cell cancers than in surrounding normal kidney tissue. Moderately expressed in pancreas, ovary and testis. Inhibited by coumarins, saccharin, sulfonamide derivatives such as acetazolamide (AZA), benzenesulfonamide and derivatives (4-carboxyethylbenzene-sulfonamide, 4- carboxyethylbenzene-sulfonamide ethyl ester, 4-(acetyl-2- aminoethyl)benzene-sulfonamide, 4-aminoethylbenzene-sulfonamide) and Foscarnet (phosphonoformate trisodium salt). Belongs to the alpha-carbonic anhydrase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
