Glycosaminoglycan Xylosylkinase (FAM20B) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS282231

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate FAM20B in samples. An antibody specific for FAM20B has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyFAM20B present is bound by… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of FAM20B elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS282231 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Glycosaminoglycan xylosylkinase (FAM20B) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing FAM20B. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS282231 kit is based on FAM20B antibody-FAM20B antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect FAM20B antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, FAM20B. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

UniProt Comments for FAM20B

FAM20B: Responsible for the 2-O-phosphorylation of xylose in the glycosaminoglycan-protein linkage region of proteoglycans thereby regulating the amount of mature GAG chains. Sulfated glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), including heparan sulfate and chondroitin sulfate, are synthesized on the so-called common GAG- protein linkage region (GlcUAbeta1-3Galbeta1-3Galbeta1-4Xylbeta1- O-Ser) of core proteins, which is formed by the stepwise addition of monosaccharide residues by the respective specific glycosyltransferases. Xylose 2-o-phosphorylation may influence the catalytic activity of B3GAT3 (GlcAT-I) which completes the precursor tetrasaccharide of GAG-protein linkage regions on which the repeating disaccharide region is synthesized. Belongs to the FAM20 family.
