Potassium Voltage-Gated Channel Subfamily A Member 10 (KCNA10) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS282261

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate KCNA10 in samples. An antibody specific for KCNA10 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyKCNA10 present is bound by… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of KCNA10 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS282261 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily A member 10 (KCNA10) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing KCNA10. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS282261 kit is based on KCNA10 antibody-KCNA10 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect KCNA10 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, KCNA10. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for KCNA10

Potassium channels represent the most complex class of voltage-gated ion channels from both functional and structural standpoints. Their diverse functions include regulating neurotransmitter release, heart rate, insulin secretion, neuronal excitability, epithelial electrolyte transport, smooth muscle contraction, and cell volume. Four sequence-related potassium channel genes - shaker, shaw, shab, and shal - have been identified in Drosophila, and each has been shown to have human homolog(s). This gene encodes a member of the potassium channel, voltage-gated, shaker-related subfamily. This member contains six membrane-spanning domains with a shaker-type repeat in the fourth segment. It is specifically regulated by cGMP and postulated to mediate the effects of substances that increase intracellular cGMP. This gene is intronless, and the gene is clustered with genes KCNA2 and KCNA3 on chromosome 1. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for KCNA10

KCNA10: Mediates voltage-dependent potassium ion permeability of excitable membranes. Assuming opened or closed conformations in response to the voltage difference across the membrane, the protein forms a potassium-selective channel through which potassium ions may pass in accordance with their electrochemical gradient. The channel activity is up-regulated by cAMP. Belongs to the potassium channel family. A (Shaker) (TC 1.A.1.2) subfamily. Kv1.8/KCNA10 sub-subfamily. Homotetramer. Interacts with KCN4B/POMP. Interaction with KCN4B/POMP is necessary for the modulation of channel activity by cAMP

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p13.3

Cellular Component: integral component of membrane; plasma membrane; voltage-gated potassium channel complex

Molecular Function: intracellular cyclic nucleotide activated cation channel activity; voltage-gated potassium channel activity

Biological Process: potassium ion transport; protein homooligomerization
