GMP Synthase (GMPS) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS282332

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate GMPS in samples. An antibody specific for GMPS has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyGMPS present is bound by the… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of GMPS elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS282332 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the GMP synthase (GMPS) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing GMPS. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS282332 kit is based on GMPS antibody-GMPS antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect GMPS antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, GMPS. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for GMPS

In the de novo synthesis of purine nucleotides, IMP is the branch point metabolite at which point the pathway diverges to the synthesis of either guanine or adenine nucleotides. In the guanine nucleotide pathway, there are 2 enzymes involved in converting IMP to GMP, namely IMP dehydrogenase (IMPD1), which catalyzes the oxidation of IMP to XMP, and GMP synthetase, which catalyzes the amination of XMP to GMP. UniProt Comments for GMPS

GMPS: Involved in the de novo synthesis of guanine nucleotides which are not only essential for DNA and RNA synthesis, but also provide GTP, which is involved in a number of cellular processes important for cell division. A chromosomal aberration involving GMPS is found in acute myeloid leukemias. Translocation t(3,11)(q25,q23) with MLL.
