Other Notes

Small volumes of PBXIP1 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS283474 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Pre-B-cell leukemia transcription factor-interacting protein 1 (PBXIP1) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing PBXIP1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS283474 kit is based on PBXIP1 antibody-PBXIP1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PBXIP1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, PBXIP1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for PBXIP1

The protein encoded by this gene interacts with the PBX1 homeodomain protein, inhibiting its transcriptional activation potential by preventing its binding to DNA. The encoded protein, which is primarily cytosolic but can shuttle to the nucleus, also can interact with estrogen receptors alpha and beta and promote the proliferation of breast cancer, brain tumors, and lung cancer. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. More variants exist, but their full-length natures have yet to be determined. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]

UniProt Comments for PBXIP1

PBXIP1: Regulator of pre-B-cell leukemia transcription factors (BPXs) function. Inhibits the binding of PBX1-HOX complex to DNA and blocks the transcriptional activity of E2A-PBX1. Tethers estrogen receptor-alpha (ESR1) to microtubules and allows them to influence estrogen receptors-alpha signaling. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cytoskeletal

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q21.3

Cellular Component: cytosol; microtubule; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; transcription corepressor activity

Biological Process: cell differentiation; multicellular organism development; negative regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent
