Glycine N-Acyltransferase (GLYAT) ELISA Kit for Rat

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS284307

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate GLYAT in samples. An antibody specific for GLYAT has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyGLYAT present is bound by the… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of GLYAT elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS284307 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Glycine N-acyltransferase (GLYAT) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing GLYAT. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS284307 kit is based on GLYAT antibody-GLYAT antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect GLYAT antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, GLYAT. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

UniProt Comments for GLYAT

GLYAT: Mitochondrial acyltransferase which transfers an acyl group to the N-terminus of glycine and glutamine, although much less efficiently. Can conjugate numerous substrates to form a variety of N-acylglycines, with a preference for benzoyl-CoA over phenylacetyl-CoA as acyl donors. Thereby detoxify xenobiotics, such as benzoic acid or salicylic acid, and endogenous organic acids, such as isovaleric acid. Belongs to the glycine N-acyltransferase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: EC 2.3.1.13; EC 2.3.1.71; Mitochondrial; Transferase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q43

Cellular Component: mitochondrion

Molecular Function: glycine N-acyltransferase activity; glycine N-benzoyltransferase activity

Biological Process: glycine metabolic process; monocarboxylic acid metabolic process; response to toxin
