Interleukin 1 Receptor Antagonist (IL-1ra) ELISA Kit for Mouse

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS284542

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate IL1RA in samples. An antibody specific for IL1RA has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyIL1RA present is bound by the… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of IL-1ra elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS284542 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Interleukin 1 receptor antagonist (IL-1ra) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing IL-1ra. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS284542 kit is based on IL-1ra antibody-IL-1ra antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect IL-1ra antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, IL-1ra. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

UniProt Comments for IL-1ra

IL1RN: Inhibits the activity of interleukin-1 by binding to receptor IL1R1 and preventing its association with the coreceptor IL1RAP for signaling. Has no interleukin-1 like activity. Binds functional interleukin-1 receptor IL1R1 with greater affinity than decoy receptor IL1R2; however, the physiological relevance of the latter association is unsure. The intracellular form of IL1RN is predominantly expressed in epithelial cells. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
