Alpha-1-Microglobulin/Bikunin Precursor (AMBP) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS284857

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate AMBP in samples. An antibody specific for AMBP has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyAMBP present is bound by the… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of AMBP elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS284857 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Alpha-1-microglobulin/bikunin precursor (AMBP) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing AMBP. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS284857 kit is based on AMBP antibody-AMBP antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect AMBP antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, AMBP. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for AMBP

This gene encodes a complex glycoprotein secreted in plasma. The precursor is proteolytically processed into distinct functioning proteins: alpha-1-microglobulin, which belongs to the superfamily of lipocalin transport proteins and may play a role in the regulation of inflammatory processes, and bikunin, which is a urinary trypsin inhibitor belonging to the superfamily of Kunitz-type protease inhibitors and plays an important role in many physiological and pathological processes. This gene is located on chromosome 9 in a cluster of lipocalin genes. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
