Pentraxin 3 (PTX3) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS285127

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate PTX3 in samples. An antibody specific for PTX3 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyPTX3 present is bound by the… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of PTX3 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS285127 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Pentraxin 3 (PTX3) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing PTX3. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS285127 kit is based on PTX3 antibody-PTX3 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PTX3 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, PTX3. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for PTX3

This gene encodes a member of the pentraxin protein family. The expression of this protein is induced by inflammatory cytokines in response to inflammatory stimuli in several mesenchymal and epithelial cell types, particularly endothelial cells and mononuclear phagocytes. The protein promotes fibrocyte differentiation and is involved in regulating inflammation and complement activation. It also plays a role in angiogenesis and tissue remodeling. The protein serves as a biomarker for several inflammatory conditions. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2016]
