MBS285772 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Dyslexia susceptibility 1 candidate gene (DYX1C1) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing DYX1C1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS285772 kit is based on DYX1C1 antibody-DYX1C1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect DYX1C1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, DYX1C1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for DYX1C1

This gene encodes a tetratricopeptide repeat domain-containing protein. The encoded protein interacts with estrogen receptors and the heat shock proteins, Hsp70 and Hsp90. An homologous protein in rat has been shown to function in neuronal migration in the developing neocortex. A chromosomal translocation involving this gene is associated with a susceptibility to developmental dyslexia. Mutations in this gene are associated with deficits in reading and spelling. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Read-through transcription also exists between this gene and the downstream cell cycle progression 1 (CCPG1) gene. UniProt Comments for DYX1C1

DYX1C1: Involved in neuronal migration during development of the cerebral neocortex. May regulate the stability and proteasomal degradation of the estrogen receptors that play an important role in neuronal differentiation, survival and plasticity. Defects in DYX1C1 may be a cause of susceptibility to dyslexia type 1 (DYX1). A relatively common, complex cognitive disorder characterized by an impairment of reading performance despite adequate motivational, educational and intellectual opportunities. It is a multifactorial trait, with evidence for familial clustering and heritability. A chromosomal aberration involving DYX1C1 has been found in a family affected by dyslexia. Translocation t(2;15)(q11;q21). 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cell development/differentiation; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 15q21.3

Cellular Component: centrosome; cytoplasm; cytosol; nucleus; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: estrogen receptor binding; protein binding

Biological Process: cilium movement; determination of left/right symmetry; neuron migration; regulation of intracellular estrogen receptor signaling pathway
