DNA Repair Protein XRCC1 (XRCC1) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS286635

Description: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate XRCC1 in samples. An antibody specific for XRCC1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any XRCC1 present is bound by the immobilized… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of XRCC1 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS286635 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the DNA repair protein XRCC1 (XRCC1) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing XRCC1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS286635 kit is based on XRCC1 antibody-XRCC1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect XRCC1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, XRCC1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for XRCC1

The protein encoded by this gene is involved in the efficient repair of DNA single-strand breaks formed by exposure to ionizing radiation and alkylating agents. This protein interacts with DNA ligase III, polymerase beta and poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase to participate in the base excision repair pathway. It may play a role in DNA processing during meiogenesis and recombination in germ cells. A rare microsatellite polymorphism in this gene is associated with cancer in patients of varying radiosensitivity. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for XRCC1

Involved in DNA single-strand break repair by mediating the assembly of DNA break repair protein complexes. Probably during DNA repair, negatively regulates ADP-ribose levels by modulating ADP-ribosyltransferase PARP1 activity.
