Granzymes B (GZMB) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS287126

This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate GZMB in samples. An antibody specific for GZMB has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any GZMB present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of GZMB elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS287126 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Granzymes B (GZMB) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing GZMB. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS287126 kit is based on GZMB antibody-GZMB antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect GZMB antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, GZMB. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for GZMB

This gene encodes a member of the granzyme subfamily of proteins, part of the peptidase S1 family of serine proteases. The encoded preproprotein is secreted by natural killer (NK) cells and cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) and proteolytically processed to generate the active protease, which induces target cell apoptosis. This protein also processes cytokines and degrades extracellular matrix proteins, and these roles are implicated in chronic inflammation and wound healing. Expression of this gene may be elevated in human patients with cardiac fibrosis. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2016]

UniProt Comments for GZMB

This enzyme is necessary for target cell lysis in cell-mediated immune responses. It cleaves after Asp. Seems to be linked to an activation cascade of caspases (aspartate-specific cysteine proteases) responsible for apoptosis execution. Cleaves caspase-3, -7, -9 and 10 to give rise to active enzymes mediating apoptosis.
