Cytochrome P450 2c19 (CYP2C19) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS287726

This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate CYP2C19 in samples. An antibody specific for CYP2C19 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any CYP2C19 present is bound by the immobilized… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of CYP2C19 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS287726 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Cytochrome P450 2C19 (CYP2C19) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing CYP2C19. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS287726 kit is based on CYP2C19 antibody-CYP2C19 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CYP2C19 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, CYP2C19. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for CYP2C19

This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This protein localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and is known to metabolize many xenobiotics, including the anticonvulsive drug mephenytoin, omeprazole, diazepam and some barbiturates. Polymorphism within this gene is associated with variable ability to metabolize mephenytoin, known as the poor metabolizer and extensive metabolizer phenotypes. The gene is located within a cluster of cytochrome P450 genes on chromosome 10q24. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
