Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-INS antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Searchable Terms for INS purchase

Type 1 diabetes mellitus and Type 2 insulin sensitivity diabetes result from insulin dysregulation leading to disease. Quantitative research is possible using a specific monoclonal antibody clone, anti insulin C-terminal Beta chain. This fused hybridoma cell antibody produced IgG1 kappa subtype mAb from a custom pentapeptide antigen engineered by molecular biology techniques and immunized mouse according to standard cell biology protocols. Compared to another ins polyclonal antibody, ins monoclonal antibody signal to noise makes it a good choice for western blot, insulin ELISA development, antibody assays arrays and IHC. Although specific for human insulin beta chain, affinity isolated antibody cross reacts with bovine and porcine, but not mouse rat protein. Used as a primary antibody, this product reacts with common secondary antibodies and may be revealed with substrate or Alexa 174 fluor detection. Shipped as antibody buffered aqueous PBS at ph 7.4 by Kass mAb which retains all rights reserved.

NCBI Summary for INS

After removal of the precursor signal peptide, proinsulin is post-translationally cleaved into three peptides: the B chain and A chain peptides, which are covalently linked via two disulfide bonds to form insulin, and C-peptide. Binding of insulin to the insulin receptor (INSR) stimulates glucose uptake. A multitude of mutant alleles with phenotypic effects have been identified. There is a read-through gene, INS-IGF2, which overlaps with this gene at the 5' region and with the IGF2 gene at the 3' region. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. UniProt Comments for INS

Insulin: Insulin decreases blood glucose concentration. It increases cell permeability to monosaccharides, amino acids and fatty acids. It accelerates glycolysis, the pentose phosphate cycle, and glycogen synthesis in liver. Heterodimer of a B chain and an A chain linked by two disulfide bonds. Belongs to the insulin family.
